What would be the motivation for people to distribute fake tickets to people leading them to malware?

For what reason would a person put a ticket on a car that leads the car owner to a site that contains malware..Please dont say because people are mean..I already know that..Whats the motivation???|||It's mainly money that drives them and not meanness. There is big money in it for those who do it the "right" way. The money will then roll in in different ways depending on what kind of malware they just gave you. Some take over you computer and email to send spam or host illegal things. Others look for bank information or other information that they can use for frauds.

The risks are there for you as a private person but the big money cows are those who surf from their job. Many businesses have sensitive information in their computers and they also have poor security since it costs a lot to keep it updated at all times.

This is far from many the hakkers of the past that would send an ideological or sometimes funny message with what they did. Many in the old crowd were "gentlemen" when it came to the information that they got their hands on and it was more of a game where they went it told that they had been there, and then waited for someone to see it and fix so that they could boost about how long it had taken security to find the issue.

Today malware is a billion dollar industry and people become rich on it. It's not about being mean, it's not about having fun it's about 拢拢拢 $$$ 鈧偓鈧?and plenty of it.

I've never hear of anyone placing out tickets on cars before but they say that all ways are good as long as they are working.

What to do when Malwarebytes or MSE can't run because of a nasty virus/malware?

I have a bad Trojan and my virus and malware scans won't work. I assume it is because of this nasty thing. What to do if the thing to combat it will not work?|||http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.鈥?/a>

Go to that site. and do all the steps. I had the same issue and it cured it. Malware or windows defender wouldn't work. its a step by step guide, very easy to follow. hope it helps!|||You must rename the mbam.exe file to something different and then run it. Update and scan for malware - best if you can do it in safe mode. It will remove most of the pests.

Try to update and run the Antivirus in Safe Mode as well. If your AV has been compromised, you can switch to the free version of AVG temporarily (bring it in via an USB stick if downloads fail).

To have realtime anti-malware protection and prevent malware infections, you can try an IP blocker (SpyBot S%26amp;D has a decent one for free) and even realtime protection (Malwarebytes full version has it, together with scheduled scans and updates - save on it with Malwarebytes coupon codes shared by users on http://news.dtcdeals.com/malwarebytes-co鈥?/a> or google for more). Good luck!|||Try

1. System restore - go back to date when you knew everything was ok

or

2. Boot into safe mode and try scanning

http://www.computerhope.com/issues/chsaf鈥?/a>

If neither works, go to C:\program files\malwarebytes antimalware

look for a file named mbam.exe

right click it and rename to anything you like eg hope.exe

double click to run

alternatively download superantispyware portable - free - you may have to use another pc - run it from a usb flash drive or an sd card

What is this I hear about the the iCrash mac malware?

I heard there is a new mac malware that some hacker group said they are making.

They said it was inspired by the hackintosh group. But instead of tricking a PC running Mac that it is on apple hardware, it will trick a Mac running on a apple computer thinking it is on pc hardware.|||yes we know what it means, but Mac users don't realize that the mac is no different from a Dell. HP, or any other intel computer system. it is just the operating system that controls the users, not the computer and why the mac crash when you install none mac hardware is because there are no drivers for it, not that the hardware is incompatible

people need to understand that proprietary hardware and software is no good for them what so ever, they need to understand that proprietary companies like Apple and Microsoft control their users, you have to buy their products like it or not, at high prices

Mac control all their hardware, ipods iphones, and computers,so that they can charge the high prices which is forced sales, anti trust trading

check out what Microsoft are now doing with their mobile phone systems link below, just the same as Apple Mac do with their hardware. controlling everything. people will learn one day|||where abouts do you find these

If I have a VMware virtual machine and it has malware on the virtual machine can my real pc be infected?

I am running an VMware Virtual Machine with malware on it is it possible that it could get on my real pc which is running the VMware machine?|||i don't think so unless if you transfer files between them or if you have a shared folder/file too|||You have not stated what operating systems you are running on your virtual system so lets say you are running Vista and xp the chances are yes you will have malware b ecause all Viruses and malware is written for windows,

now VMware is Linux and that won't have malware within VMware because it is a totally different operating system and Malware will not effect VMware what so ever,

It will still effect any and all windows operating systems|||It depends on a number of things... if both machines run Windows and the virus is one that spreads across a network and you have no virus checker on your host machine then yes, it can spread. If both machines run Windows and you move files between the machines and you have no virus checker on the host then yes.

If you have a virus checker on the host then no.

If the host and the guest run significantly different software (i.e. one is Windows and the other is Linux) then the virus won't infect both machines under any circumstance.|||if it is in the virtual machine files that are permanently on your computer then the malware is already on your computer...Here is a list of free online virus scans Safety.Live.com (That one is Microsoft's) Symantec.com Housecall.TrendMicro.com Comodo.com...Comodo.com offers free manual disinfection and a free security suite from the makers of Comodo Firewall Pro...Avira.com now offers free antivirus and antispyware...besure to turn off onboard antivirus before starting online scanner

I just bought a laptop a month ago. It is now infected with a virus or malware/spyware?

I cannot even acces the internet on it. Another security system wants me to buy there program to fix it. I thought I had purchased an extended McAfee protection. Guess it didnt work and they said it doesnt fix the problem you have to buy something else to fix it. Any suggestions on how I can get the damn malware/spyware virus off my new laptop?|||Same thing happened to me

Mine got so bad that it affected the way my computer was functioning improperly

You can restore it to the earliest day you possibly can (through control panel) or you can use your warranty (which lasts a year) and say that there is some unknown problem on your computer and they will fix it for you

That pop up is a virus....don't buy anything......the same exact thing happened to me and my internet wouldn't connect to anything

If restoring doesn't work send it back but call the warranty service and tell them that your computer does not connect to the internet at all then they will give you all the information you need to send it back

Good Luck

=)|||you can try to fix it yourself with by downloading a letitimate antivirus program or another option is to you use a service on the Internet where they connect to your computer and fix it for you. Dont buy any software to fix it as many of them are scams and dont actually fix anything. of course you can pack it up and take it to your local geeksquad store for around $200 as well but the services that fix it over the internet are pretty good. a highly recommended one is http://www.boxaid.com which was reviewed by the wall street journal.|||FIRSTLY, IT SOUNDS AS THOUGH THE SECOND SECURITY SYSTEM IS THE CULPRIT... What is the best virus protection and malware/spyware protection to have?

I have recently been having a lot of trouble with malware on my computer. I did a full system restore and now i need the best protection possible for viruses and malware/spyware. what would you recommend me using ? are there any GOOD free programs as well?|||A good one to buy is Norton Anti-Virus 2009

A good one for free is AVAST Anti-virus and windows defender work pretty well together

For Avast

For windows defender

On the rare occasion that I do get something that these can't get out, I've been downloading the free trial of stopsign, running the scan and removing all the entries of the malware myself. It's a nice one because it tells you exactly where the virus is hiding, including the registry. Many don't do that.

I don't recommend playing in the computers registry though if you're unsure what you are doing.

edit-Do not get Norton. It is a joke of a program that gives more problems than fixes. It is known for this. I had to crash my computer down and reformat because of that f'ing program.|||avast! and avira are both good free antivirus.take your pick the edge goes to avast! no antivirus program is 100%.i use malwarebytes and superantispyware for antimalware.they work very well together.i also use secunia personal software inspector to check my computer for out of date and end of life software.keeping your software and computer updated helps your computer stay healthy.|||Well it's not just you who have got this problem there might be thousands of others.

Download the free Avira Antivir. It's the best. Try it yourself. I had virus in my laptop I was using USB to copy some files to my Desktop. I was running AVG on my Laptop. It was not detecting the virus as fast as Avira Antivir. The link is below

Can sombody explain to me what polymorphism is and how malware can use it to remain undetected on a computer?

I've been learning about malware recently, the different kinds, how its used, what it can do... ect. And I can't seem to find an artical or definition I am capable of understanding. I have no intention of using this in a malcious way, computer security simply interest me.|||polymorphism is the ability of an object 2 take more than one form. for example u take wood its just wood when u cut it but u can make many things outa it which may b a furniture a statue etc.... wood takes many forms still it is wood

like wise a malware copies itself and stores itself under different names so that if u remove one it creates many ( worm also works on the same principle )|||Polymorphism means many forms.

That means many objects taking one form, not one object taking many form.

They seem as same but work very much different,

In case of malware it you can make a software that seems as the one very familiar to the user or being used by the OS or something alike, but work as some thing else.
