Can malware transfer from my pc to my mp3 player, then to my new laptop?

I got the extremely damaging malware known as "Internet Security 2010" that basically kills your computer. I need to remove my music and files and put them on my new laptop, but my disc drive is broken on the infected pc. Instead of creating hard copies, can I just transfer the docs, music and pics through my mp3 player without transferring the virus too?|||Yes, it can happen.





Is it likely? Only if one of the files you are copying is infected. You are better off removing the malware first, then transferring the files otherwise you are risking it.
