Computer had" XP security 2012" malware on it. Used Mal byte malware remover and think got rid of it. No more pop ups with warnings etc. Re ran McAfee and problems with that seem to have disappeared.
Just want to make sure problems are gone before start using computer for bill paying etc.|||First, it's very important that you followed the whole procedure carefully, especially steps 3 and 4.
If not, there's a good chance that the infection will return.

Assuming that you did that and are looking for a second / third opinion, I'd suggest running a full system scan with the free version of Superantispyware, and a couple of these online scans.

(*) Don't be concerned with the '2010' in the name... it is updated constantly... it's Kaspersky.
Edit: Added Microsoft Safety Scanner|||The only way to be completely sure is to format and reinstall Windows. If paying bills on my PC, that's what I would do.
