I plugged my camera into a computer that a few days later we fond had malware. I believe I know how and when the malware officially "occurred", and if I am right, it was a few days after I had the camera plugged in. However, I don't want to take any chances. How can i tell if my camera is infected by malware/make sure it isn't without deleting any pictures/plugging the camera into a computer? Thanks for help.|||Cameras don't use the same type of operating system that computers do. About the only way you could infect a camera is IF a hacker COULD write code the camera could understand and THEN incorporate that into the firmware of the camera (and you would still have to tell the camera to accept the "new" firmware).
More than likely, your malware infection came from someone using the computer to "try this new free game" or an e-mail attachment.|||Your camera will not "act weird"
But it is possible that the memory card has malware or a virus yes. It isn't unusual for a not so awake [it is monday] tester to let through a cd that then gets replicated. The driver cd for your new camera that is...
Hey it is always possible that a new virus slips through and some kind of driver indeed is malwared.
But your camera self is not affected by it.|||Are you dizzy? Cameras don't work at all like computers. Cameras don't exchange data with your computer it only flows in one direction, from camera to computer. This is silly.
