How likely is it that hard drive manufacturers put out Viruses and malware in order to increase business?

the more viruses out and that THEY know how to deal with ,,,,means more profit?

would they benefit from Viruses and malware causing more hard dives to need replacing?

have they ever looked into this possiblity? how could prove it and how it is possible and how likely and why?|||This is the second time I have seen this question.

Common sense indicates that two people would not make the same bizarre post with identical or almost identical wording.

I say bizarre because your odd logic suggests that car manufacturers might sell cars set to fail after a certain amount of use, TV manufacturers make TV's likely to fail after a certain period of time|||they don't do it... if they did, consumers could sue them for thousands, maybe even millions of dollars which I do not think they would want to pay... Also, if they did it, they will be critized by the public, they will be shutdown by the consumers court, and the 1987 consumer protection act would also come into play forcing them to shut down by the government, so they don't... and btw- viruses and malware cause software damage, not hardware problem... for hard-drive replacement, u would need to bang your laptop, desktop hard... also, before a hard-drive fails, it makes clicking noises...
