What is the difference between AVG and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware?

What is the difference between the two, do they do the same thing? I currently have Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. Can i have both of these programs? What is malware, spyware and antivirus? Sorry I know I sound dumb asking all these stupid questions but i am really sorry I really dont know. And is AVG any good and what does it do.

AVG is antivirus and no it's not that good because it does not have rootkit protection. Use Malwarebytes with suggestion below-

Malware is any program or code that is intended to do harm to your computer. Malware includes spyware, viruses, trojans, etc.


Spyware is usually in the form of a tracking cookie. These cookies and programs generally display ads and popups, known as adware.


Antivirus is a program that will protect your computer from these harmful and annoying programs %26amp; files.





Malwarebytes is better than AVG, so keep that and don't get AVG, you don't need it.|||don't be sorry computer are difficult to understand.





malwarebytes removes malware form your computer. AVG is an antivirus that removes viruses. you can use both together. viruses,malware, and spyware slow down and destroy your computer.





avg and malwarebytes are free programs that are OK.





i use Norton internet security 2010 because it is the best. and for you it would be too because it wont bother you with questions about the software or anything like that. if you get Norton you cant use those other programs. only use 1 antivirus and 1 firewall (blocks outside intruders).|||Malwarebytes anti-malware is anti-spyware program, it specialises in small subset of malwares. AVG is broader spectrum program.


I can not recommend free version of both of these programs for making system secure, as they got some problems :


Malwarebytes anti-malware free version does not have real-time protection, and updates need to be launched manually (no scheduling).


free avg has no rootkit protection (a type of parasites), so there is a whole subclass of parasites your PC is vulnerable to.


Both programs are good, though. But I would use their commercial version, or replace them with other free alternatives like superantispyware (instead malwarebytes) and AVIRA or AVAST instead AVG.|||AVG is an OK Anti Virus program for Free !!


But you get what you pay for.





I run Kaspersky Anti Virus. Bought.





Anti Virus is one thing. Your right. Now you need to stop Trojans and other Malware.





So I use SPYBOT search and Destroy.


Its free and I have used for years.





Because it's free, you have to down load updates yourself each week. But that's as easy as asking a question on Yahoo, or logging into your mail account.





Spybot runs together with any Anti Virus program, and I highly recommend it.

If you want both you can go ahead and get botch aswell since one is for malware and AVG is for viruses (mostly).|||Avg is an antivirus, it is ment to catch viruses.


Malwarebytes takes care of malware, things like spyware, and adware.





you can run both programs together. Thats what I do|||You can use both of them at one time. There won't be any problem.


Both will make your pc safe from viruses.|||Im pretty sure Malwarebytes Anti-Malware is just a app to search your files for virus;s ect, i think you will still need a antivirus such as avg free|||they both work well together but avg is not very good use these two avira or avast use only one and both are free get at cnet.com
