Should I have malware bytes and avg both running or just one of them?

I have the paid version of malware bytes, so I keep it running in protect mode. But, I'm not sure if that's just malware protection, or actually virus protection also? So should I keep them both running fully at all times or is malware bytes alone enough?|||Just run AVG for real time.
