I just bought a laptop a month ago. It is now infected with a virus or malware/spyware?

I cannot even acces the internet on it. Another security system wants me to buy there program to fix it. I thought I had purchased an extended McAfee protection. Guess it didnt work and they said it doesnt fix the problem you have to buy something else to fix it. Any suggestions on how I can get the damn malware/spyware virus off my new laptop?|||Same thing happened to me

Mine got so bad that it affected the way my computer was functioning improperly

You can restore it to the earliest day you possibly can (through control panel) or you can use your warranty (which lasts a year) and say that there is some unknown problem on your computer and they will fix it for you

That pop up is a virus....don't buy anything......the same exact thing happened to me and my internet wouldn't connect to anything

If restoring doesn't work send it back but call the warranty service and tell them that your computer does not connect to the internet at all then they will give you all the information you need to send it back

Good Luck

=)|||you can try to fix it yourself with by downloading a letitimate antivirus program or another option is to you use a service on the Internet where they connect to your computer and fix it for you. Dont buy any software to fix it as many of them are scams and dont actually fix anything. of course you can pack it up and take it to your local geeksquad store for around $200 as well but the services that fix it over the internet are pretty good. a highly recommended one is http://www.boxaid.com which was reviewed by the wall street journal.|||FIRSTLY, IT SOUNDS AS THOUGH THE SECOND SECURITY SYSTEM IS THE CULPRIT... IT IS MOST LIKELY CRAPWARE, WHICH LOADS INTO YOUR SYSTEM AND CREATES A WHOLE HOST OF PROBLEMS IT CAN "FIX/" FOR A FEE...THE PROBLEMS MAY NOT ACTUALLY EXIST, ESPECIALLY SINCE YOUR MCAFEE DIDN'T PICK UP ANYTHING UNUSUAL, AND THEY ARE A SUPPOSEDLY REPUTABLE COMPANY.... AS FAR AS BEING ABLE TO ACCESS YOUR COMPUTER, WE'RE GONNA TRY AN OFF-WINDOWS RESTORE....#1:: POWER OFF YOUR COMPUTER. TURN IT COMPLETELY OFF...

#2:AS THE BIOS POWER ON SELF TEST IS ABOUT TO FINISH, BUT BEFORE WINDOWS BEGINS TO LOAD, PRESS AND HOLD (H-O-L-D!) THE F8 KEY UNTIL YOU GET THE ADVANCED START MENU...IF YOU SEE THE WINDOWS LOGO, YOU MISSED THE TIMING AND WILL HAVE TO TRY AGAIN...

#3: CHOOSE SAFE MODE...JUST SAFE MODE, NOT SAFE MODE WITH NETWORKING, OR ANYTHING ELSE.. WHEN WINDOWS DOES FINALLY LOAD (THIS MAY TAKE SOME TIME TO HAPPEN ) YOU WILL BE GIVEN THE OPTION TO CONTINUE IN SAFE MODE, OR ELSE USE SYSTEM RESTORE...CHOOSE AN OLDER RESTORE POINT, NOT THE MOST RECENT ONE, I USUALLY JUST GO FOR THE OLDEST ONE MYSELF., JUST FOR THE SAKE OF CONVENIENCE....ONCE YOU CAN USE YOUR COMPUTER,, DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND GO TO"HTTP://MALWAREBYTES.ORG "FOR FREE HELP IN FIXING AND PROTECTING YOUR COMPUTER..|||Did your computer come with a restore disk? Most viruses take over and you can't restore them. If you can't restore back to a previous date, I would reinstall everything and start over. You will lose what you have on the hard drive, but you can't use it like it is anyway. Be sure and get a good anti-viruss installed. I use AVAST. It is free at CNET.com|||Hi,
