How likely is it that hard drive manufacturers put out Viruses and malware in order to increase business?

would they benefit from Viruses and malware causing more hard dives to need replacing?





have they ever looked into this possiblity? how could prove it and how it is possible and how likely and why?|||I haven't recently heard about a virus physically destroying a hard drive. Corrupting, yes, but totally ruining it, no.





If your technician told you that your hard drive was destroyed by a virus then he's ripping you off.|||They wouldn't because a virus wouldn't affect the HD just the OS.|||So every time you get a virus you replace the hard drive? LOL......moron!
